Ok we are all upset about yesterdays game but I think it’s about time for some perspective. We were playing in the 3rd round of the FA cup yesterday… historically the stage of many upsets! Luckily we were not beaten (although we deserved to be) Newcastle 1 - 0 Mansfield Stoke 0 - 0 Tamworth Arsenal 2 - 1 Cardiff Wigan 1 - 1 Leeds Chelsea 2 - 1 Huddersfield Nuneaton 1 - 1 Middlesbro Hull 0 - 1 Aston Villa Millwall 1 - 1 Everton there were several potetial upsets in these games and some close calls... however like us some teams have a second chance, to get over this hurdle! I would ask that people calm down, yesterday was a blip on some of our recent performances... we have been playing well... we can do better and will... hopefully starting next week in the league ;) |

well said, i hope a few read that on here. I feel sorry for the true Blues that travelled all the way down.. hell most of us have done the long journeys! lets face it we was poor before we faced Torquay. i looked at the third round matches when they came out and thought if ever there was an upset on the cards... it's us! and could still be..... never ever think you can just walk any match. I wonder about some on here that think because you are Premiership... it means your better, it's what happens on the day. remember Sunderland and how many of us thought back at St Andrews...with Forssell scoring goals like he did at the Stadium of light, it's must be a formality..... result 0-2 :( |

Jassyblue, yesterday was a blip as far as OUR recent performances !!! I and many of my mates were ASTOUNDED at yesterday's performance - just wish we would do that in L2... Would swap a win against you for league survival everytime!!! Looking forward to coming back to Brum, I worked there for 6 years and drove by St Andrews almost daily on my way to work... Think you fully-fit squad will stuff us at your place!! ATB,J. |

 Fantastic, isn't it! I just hope in a week's time we'll be talking about a victory over Charlton following on from the sort of league performances we've seen in the last couple of weeks. I'll be veryu glad to forget completely about Torquay and teh FA cup then. .... I was always a bit prone to over-optimism |

Today's results: BURTON 0-0 MAN UTD Fulham 1-2 Leyton Orient Leicester 3-2 Tottenham Sunderland 3-0 Norwich And not forgetting Clyde 2-1 Liverpool were almost turned over 3-1 by Luton and only managed to turn it round thanks to an inspired substitution. But that's why they're paying upwards of £15million for their subs. All in all a classic FA Cup wekend. It is weekends like this that make the FA Cup so famous all around the World. Torquay, on paper stood no chance at all. Burton, on paper stood even less but they got their results and fair play to them. Just look at it this way. By earning replays clubs like Torquay and Burton will keep the wolves from the door for this season at least. We must not let the doom merchants take anything away from Torquay and hyjack the result for their own doom mongering. Let's look on the positive side for once. 0-0 at Torquay, a clean sheet away from home and 2 in a row for the 1st time in absolutely ages. We might have been lucky to get through it in 1 piece but at least the luck seems to be with us. 4 weeks ago we would have lost this game. **thumbup |

Good point but just take a look at ALL the silverware Celtic and Manchester United have won between them Unfortunately our trophy room has rarely been used (I wonder if Lord Lucan and Elvis are still in there ??) What's the point of mentioning all these other games??....our concern should be of Birmingham City FC Yes,there were a few close calls in the FA Cup ...Fulham and Spurs were knocked out by lower league sides today and I reckon the Albion could be next (v Reading away) The point was that our performance v Torquay was broadcast around the world and it wasn't a pretty sight....it was so awful, you have trouble knowing where to begin .....so many of our players seem 'down and out' right now I don't think the Blues fans can tolerate much more of this mediocrity from a squad packed with international players Something has to change (especially both ON the training ground and ON the field) starting at Charlton next week KRO |

Ok perspective time - we are still in the FA cup and go into the hat for the next round. Too many people expected Torquay to be a walk over but their ground and pitch are not the best fot football. By all accounts Torquay played out of their skin. I dont think it is the result that is bothering people that much - i think it is the performance - or lack of it. After the improved performance against Wigan we were expecting the team to build on that and push on. Frankly i'm not too bothered if we get knocked out of the cup, the league is our priority this season. |

So what if we get knocked out? we don't need a cup run right now we need league saftey! I would rather go out to the likes of Manure but hey! who cares! If we stay in the Prem and have a good start to the next season then lets look to get to a final but this year staying up is the name of the game! |

We could have a cup run and stay up. We could get knocked out by Torquay and go down. One does not determine the other. The FA Cup is important because it's the biggest competition that we have a chance of winning. |

the important thing to note is that Fulham, Sunderland, Portsmouth have not got to play a replay. If were going to have a cup run i'd prefer w'd do in 90 minutes and not have to replay as those clubs have an advantage over us now. |

The point is the longer we are in a cup comp the more likely to pick up injuries and bookings etc! and we need all players fit and free from cards to battle in the league. |
